This year the Jackson Grammar School Physical Education program has a curriculum that is centered on developing and refining skills.  The major skills that are focused on are kicking, striking (with an object), overhand throw, catching, running, hopping/jumping, and fitness.  The main goal for P.E. is to expose the students to a variety of life long activities.  Such activities include a wide range; from Basketball, to Cross Country Skiing, to Dance.  Units last about three weeks with the first two weeks being skill development, and the third week being a large group game.  In the spring we plan to do Jump Rope for Heart.  Students also participate in the Presidential Fitness test in the fall and spring to compare their individual fitness improvement over the school year.
