DAR Essay Winner

We are a community of writers here at the Jackson Grammar School, and take research and civic responsibility seriously.

Each year sixth graders participate in the Anna Stickney Chapter of the DAR's essay contest. In recent years, Jackson students have done exceedingly well and gone on to both the state and national level, including Helen Badger in 2014, and Aidan Hagerty in 2013, who won the National Daughters of the American Revolution History Essay Contest.

The purpose of the DAR's American History Committee is to promote American history throughout the year by honoring significant historical people, places, dates, and events in various essay contests.  The American History Essay Contest is an annual contest for 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders in public school.

More on our 2017 winner will be coming soon!
